The foremost question is, what is sustainability? What is your understanding of it? We hear this word around us at so many places, right from a diner sourcing its ingredients in the sustainable way to a high end furniture store boasting about their sustainable sources for wood they procure. We are starting to notice this word in grocery stores and even in clothing stores. It’s creeping in our nukkad wala conversations to meetings in big conference halls. From Development to food everything, everyone is talking, thinking about this. In the hustle bustle of this fast world, in few moments of self reflection, we end up questioning self if we are just sustaining? Environmentalists, industrialists, developers, economists, etc have their unique understanding of sustainability from their perspective.
So what exactly we mean by we are sustainable at ‘Dñya’? Here, we like to be clear and in sync in our thoughts and in our actions. Let’s dive in!
It’s an interesting fact to know- the word ‘sustainability’ was defined back in 1987 by UN. It means- meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Now, you can extrapolate that to your expertise, your field, or your life!
At ‘Dñya’, our directors and partners are aware and mindful of resources being used, carbon footprints of their actions in their routine. Most of our team members compost, make natural cleaners, avoid plastic, carry their own tiffin boxes and water bottle. Dr. Maitreyi, our director has been using her steel water water bottle since 2018 which also has travelled with her abroad!
Products sold by us are earth friendly, durable and made with conscious efforts while considering its impact on environment including animal kingdom, plant kingdom. This includes packaging and shipping too. We follow our words with right actions and only then provide options to others of an alternate way of living consciously without altering (actually, increasing!) quality of life. We are enthusiasts of all ‘R’s at ‘Dñya’!
Reduce – Refuse – Rethink – Repair – Reuse – Recycle – Rot
However, we are not only about materialistic sustainability. With our roots in spirituality and understanding of consciousness, we also are mindful sustainability of each person (’s mind-body-spirit and energy-wisdom-consciousness connection) associated with us. That is why you will find person centric approach in every service we provide. We respect unique journey of individuals. Our consultations will never be overwhelming for you and still take you to next level of whatever you are looking for. In fact, only because of this understanding, we are able to achieve what we do.
